The Image and the Mark: Revelation 13:11-17

Which comes first, the baby or the birth pains? Any mother can tell you without hesitation,  that the birth pains arrive before the baby does. What we are witnessing, is the rise of global birth pains; wars and threats of wars, famines and earthquakes, the beginning of sorrows - the birth pains that precede the baby's arrival. The baby represents the birth of a new era; the second coming of Christ Jesus.

The same logic applies to the image and the mark. You can not have the mark without the image. The image must be in existence before the mark is enforced. Just as the birth pains come before the baby, the image comes before the mark

   So, where is it?

We often hear about how this or that is the 'mark of the beast.' It's a barcode, a jab, A.I., a microchip, a jab, digital I.D., Sunday law, a fingerprint, an eye scan, our cell phones. If 'this and that' is the 'mark of the beast', then, where is the image? What is it and, when was submission to an image required to make everyday purchases?

What is In the Land of Shinar: Kings and Kingdoms about?

As per bible prophecy, power returns to the middle east, with the rise of a fourth beast kingdom; the beast with ten horns. A city named Babylon the Great, will also rise, fulfilling a literal interpretation of prophecy.

Revelation outlines a series of events that will occur before the second coming of Christ Jesus. One of these events, is the rise of a vicious and brutal beast kingdom, that goes forth to conquer and devour. Intimately connected to the beast, is a mystery woman who dominates religious and economic harlotry. This harlotry centers around submission to an image, and a religiously biased system of buying and selling.

The imagery seen and recorded by John, is that of a woman, arrayed in scarlet and purple; carried upon seven heads of a scarlet beast. The woman is cloaked in mystery; hidden in metaphorical significance. On her forehead, a name is written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. Many claim that the 'mystery' of the woman is solved, and she represents the future role of the Roman Catholic church. This interpretation stifles further investigation of scripture, leaving us stuck in time, unprepared for the future. Is the woman of Revelation 17 really an apostate church, or something more sinister; cleverly concealed by scripture, awaiting her appointed time?

The clock is ticking:

The timing of Revelation is yet future, and the rise of the beast 'like the leopard, with the feet of a bear and, the mouth of a lion' is just on the horizon. Many call this the 'revived' Roman Empire'. But, is it? Is this supported by scripture or, is scripture defining a fourth and final beast kingdom, rising from the middle east to claim global dominion?

The Book of Daniel, offers a glimpse into the former Babylonian kingdom, and its capital city; a land of kings, military might, merchants, magicians and sorcerers. The Book of Revelation tells of a future kingdom and city which will rival the first .... yet to come. Together they rise, to conquer the world in the end of days....

I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and ten horns.
